With the increasing demand for outdoor garden decoration, the safe installation and proper maintenance of garden lights have become a key concern for citizens. Industry experts remind everyone that outdoor garden light installation must adhere to the bottom line of safety, and maintenance must pay attention to details to achieve both aesthetics and durability.
Regarding installation, electrical safety must be prioritized. Waterproof cables and connectors must be used outdoors, and connectors must be above ground level to avoid burying them underground. A 30mA residual current device (RCD) must be installed on the circuit. For damp areas and areas where children play, 12V/24V low-voltage lights are recommended. At the same time, the protection level must be matched to the scene: ordinary outdoor lights should start at IP65, in-ground lights and those around water features should reach IP67, and underwater lights must be IP68. The burial depth should be no less than 50cm and protected by PVC conduit.
In terms of maintenance, the lampshade and solar panel should be cleaned every 1-3 months to prevent dust from affecting brightness. After rain, promptly check the light body and connectors for water ingress and fogging; if any problems are found, immediately disconnect the power. In addition, the wiring and screws should be checked regularly for rust prevention. Solar lights should be guaranteed sufficient sunlight; in winter, the brightness can be appropriately reduced to extend battery life.
Professionals say that proper installation and regular maintenance can not only extend the lifespan of garden lights, but also eliminate safety hazards such as electric shock and fire, making outdoor lighting both safe and aesthetically pleasing.
